Maldives

Another famous archipelago in the Indian Ocean- this one known for idyllic, laid-back, luxury vacations, Maldives has ambitious plans of vaccinating visitors once its resident population is immunized. As of now, the scattered country is receiving travellers, without asking those vaccinated to quarantine (provided they are travelling to an island where  60% of the population is fully vaccinated).

A negative PCR certificate issued no more than 96 hours prior to departure is still requisite for all unvaccinated passengers. Passengers must complete a "Traveller Health Declaration 24 hours before departure.

The government is primarily relying on the fact that guests usually prefer to lounge and relax in their private over-water huts and villas. Nonetheless, most of the islands can be visited.

As per the Mauritius Tourism Website, travellers may stay in one of the island's villas, bungalows, guest houses, B&Bs or even their own home. Still, due to the COVID-19 situation, many of these spaces have reduced their capacity as well as have prioritised remote purchasing of tickets.

The UK now has a single red list is in effect consisting of only seven countries. This means fully vaccinated travellers outside the red list are allowed to enter the UK without first having to take a PCR or lateral flow test.

To be classified as fully vaccinated, travellers must have been vaccinated in countries where the administered vaccines along with proof of vaccination are recognized by the UK government. For some, the country is defined by its bright lights and big cities the likes of Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas just to name a few. For others, it is the land of the wide-open skies and road trips with its millions of kilometers long highway coursing through the sun-bleached hills of the Great Plains, the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest and the delightful country roads of New England.
